FAQ

Is my design uploaded anywhere?

No. Drawing, converting and exporting all happen in your browser. Your designs and the files you open never leave your computer.

Which file do I need?

Check the table above. If you're unsure, download the ZIP: it has every format, and your machine picks the one it reads. Statler, Pro-Stitcher, CompuQuilter and APQS read QLI; IntelliQuilter reads IQP (or DXF); Innova reads PAT or DXF; Q-matic reads BQM; QBot reads PLT.

How big should one repeat be?

Most edge-to-edge designs use a repeat of 8 to 14 inches and a row height of 5 to 12 inches. Your quilting software can still resize the pattern, so pick a size that looks right in the whole-quilt preview.

How do I print a paper pantograph?

Choose Letter or A4 and set the length (usually your quilt's width plus a little). Print every page at 100% (Actual size), check the 1-inch square on the first page, then overlap each sheet on the one before it and tape the seams. For one long strip, choose One long page and take the PDF to a print shop that prints engineering or blueprint rolls.

Can I convert a pantograph I already own to another format?

Yes, with Pro. Open the file (QLI, DXF, HQF, TXT, IQP, PAT, BQM, CQP, PLT, QCC or SSD) and download it in any other format. Please respect the designer's license: most allow converting for your own machine, not sharing the files.

Can I sell pantographs I design with PantoMaker?

Yes. Designs you draw are yours. Pro puts your name and copyright notes inside every file and the ZIP has every format buyers expect. The built-in designs are free for anyone, so they're not suitable to sell as your own.
